iqx the Technology Division of iqbusiness is looking for a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our growing team in Cape Town. This is a mid to senior-level position, ideal for someone with a strong foundation in DevOps practices and deep, recent hands-on experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

You’ll work closely with development, security, and operations teams to ensure robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure that supports rapid delivery and high availability.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of DevOps or SRE experience in production environments

• Strong, recent AWS experience, with deep knowledge of services like EC2, ECS, RDS, Lambda, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.

• Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (preferably Terraform, but others considered)

• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS)

• Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and pipeline tools

• Proficient with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, etc.)

• Strong understanding of system monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)

• Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset

What You’ll Do

• Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure

• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation

• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI)

• Monitor system performance, reliability, and scalability

• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes

• Ensure cloud architecture follows security and compliance best practices

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments

• Collaborate with developers to streamline code deployment and operational workflows
